Dr. Fauci is used to being an unquestioned and unquestionable authority for a long time. He believes his own hype and expects us to accept it without question. The MSM may not question him and maybe he knows how to spin webs around the folks he talks to, but he comes across as a powerless doom-sayer to me.
His solutions are always the most extreme in effect and duration. He’d use a water cannon for five minutes to put out a match. “Just to be safe.”
he’s probably right: the ORIGINAL goal of “cowering in place” supposedly wasn’t to STOP the infection spread but to simply slow it down to avoid a “surge” of hospitalizations ...
now of course, our overlords have moved the goal posts to supposedly keeping the infection from spreading, but none of that is science based, and in fact keeping the lockdown going is counterproductive to developing population immunity, which will happen only when about 70% of the population has been infected ...
furthermore, sentinel testing of the population has already shown the C-19 cat is totally out of the bag, a large percentage of the population has already developed antibodies without even knowing they were infected; given the current infection rate and the infected mortality rate, C-19 is essentially like West Nile in terms of silent infection rate, like influenza in terms of infected mortality rate, and like norovirus in terms of contagion rate ...certainly nothing that requires our overlords to destroy our economy and try to frighten us to death, unless of course they have an ulterior motive like trying to destroy Donald Trump ...
This prediction, like most of Fauci’s previous other wild predictions, is based on exactly no evidence. It is entirely supposition, it’s a hunch, an experienced hunch, but still, a hunch.
Fauci can be in charge.
He should never have been allowed onto the stage. He is connected with the lab where the virus originated, he's been consistently wrong, and his pontifications have contribute heavily to the panic and hysteria that could cost us our liberty and prosperity forever.
There may be a second wave coming.
There may not be.
Truth is, no one really knows.
They may find a vaccine for this.
They may not.
Therefore the fact that he keeps making cock-sure statements on both subjects proves categorically that the guy is full of feces.
If we go through this shutdown again every single year when the virus returns (and they always return) we won’t have much of a country left. At some point the Dow Jones will be around 1,000 as the nation’s businesses go under, 60-100 million Americans will be unemployed and barely surviving on government handouts, martial law will be in place with the army handing out food as people wait hours in line, and all the other chaos imaginable in a dystopian America. Not to mention another $20 trillion or more added to the debt and the resulting economic shocks. God preserve us from this madness over a virus that will be here until the end of time!
