Gov. Gavin Newsom is considering a strategy for slowly reopening business in a state divided between rural areas with small numbers of coronarivus cases and urban areas struggling with still-rising death tolls.
Newsom on Tuesday planned to outline what it would take to ease California's stay-at-home order, which aimed to slow the spread of COVID-19 by keeping most people at home and closing all but essential businesses.
Health officials have said the efforts have helped flatten the curve of the virus outbreak, but they also have caused massive unemployment and economic upheaval.
On Monday, Newsom said the state is "a few weeks away, not months away" from making "meaningful changes" in the order. It was his most optimistic timeline yet, though he didn't specify what "meaningful" meant.

IMHE has California projected deaths per day at zero by May 15. Newsom is going to look absolutely stupid if he doesn’t ease up by then.
California is already 6 days past their projected peak in deaths per day. They are in the thirties, down from a high of 139 deaths in a single day.
The rats have their orders. One by one they are extending through may then they start the “just two weeks more crap”.
The goal is to slow walk in an effort to keep the economy down.
I declare it is over. I will not obey a cop. I do obey real laws, though.

At the beginning, I only supported the shutdown for one month...Just one month...
I look at what Georgia and Texas are doing...I would like to congratulate citizens of those states...They could go to work or stay home...In California, most citizens only have one choice...Stay home...
Two words for Gruesome Newsom, and they are not Happy Bithday. A real POS is he. The Pelosi, Brown, Newsom clans all connected at the hip have turned this state into a s**thole.
Then two weeks later, “well, we Are close but still not there yet, so I am extending my order two weeks.” Just like they have done since the beginning of this.
You are correct in the fact that they keep moving the goalposts and what the end game of these restrictions are, first it was to give hospitals time to prepare, then flat in the curve, etc. Now it is, well I don’t really know anymore it keeps changing on a daily basis it seems
