The facility has been overwhelmed and unequipped to deal with its coronavirus outbreak, with shortages of staff, personal protective equipment and the availability of reliable testing.

I think of this as a trial run or practice for the “big one”. We need to learn as much as we can so when some really awful epidemic comes, we can meet the challenge competently.

I remember when the NY governor refused help from southern emergency electrical crews to help get electrical service back on after the ice storms. NY residents remained without electrical service for weeks and months while the neighboring states were all back on. All because the helping crews were non-union. NY government is pathetic...talk about ideologues.

Director, why do people like you wait for some bureaucrat, city, county, state, Fed, to tell you what to do? Whether it’s stockpiling your own PPE for personnel and residents, or not waiting to close the doors to visitors and doing that the moment this bug showed up on the west coast.
