Blast from the past???

If I recall correctly, he was elected as governor of Minnesota as the nominee of Ross Perot’s Reform Party. He defeated both the Republican and Democrat in that election.

It sounds like he’s gone far left, what with pushing global warming so much. Green Party is where he belongs in such a case.

We lived in MN when Jessie ran for governor.
At first, he sounded conservative. He ordered the state surplus to be returned to taxpayers and it was (we got about $3,000.)

After his election, something clicked in his brain and he threatened to kill a Star Tribune reporter.
It went down hill from there...

He was elected as governor of Minnesota as the nominee of Ross Perot’s Reform Party, but left it a year after taking office.

His main claim to fame is that he cut the sales tax with rebates and property tax cuts that resulted in significant revenue losses to the state of Minnesota. His decisions caused the statewide capital gain to fall from $9 billion to $4 billion between 2000 and 2001 alone. At the time Ventura left office in 2003, Minnesota also had a $4.2 billion budget deficit, compared to the $3 billion budget surplus when Ventura took office in 1999. Putting a showman in office is not always the thing to do. But he did make every effort to keep the youth vote with his work to legalize marijuana. He was no Reagan. And still isn’t. He was a joke when he worked in wrestling. I can see nothing has changed.
