Sweden has more deaths than their neighbors. And their case fatality rate is now over 12%, most likely indicating they aren’t testing any but the most severe cases.

If you sort by Deaths/1 million population on Worldometers, they hit the top 10 over the weekend. They are currently at #11.

They are now claiming they will have herd immunity by the end of May.

I hope they aren’t basing that on one of the Chinese antibody tests that have high false positives.

I personally see this as one of those “Pay me now, or pay me later” sort of things.

And the thing is, the lockdown is not a “free” solution. It carries a very high cost. As divorce, suicide, domestic abuse, etc. climb, the cost climbs. And those things have long term and permanent consequences for the living.

Eventually, everybody will have the same infection rates, because it isn’t going away, and without a vaccine, everybody will eventually get it.

ALthough I suppose so long as you have sacrificial lambs to go get you food, provide you energy for your house, and police your streets so nobody comes and robs or kills you, you could hide in your basement for a couple of years and avoid it.
