We cannot and will not lift restrictions like one turns on a light switch, Northam said of moving onto the first phase of recovery, which he called Phase One.
Easing too much too soon could jeopardize public health and consumer confidence, he said.
Phase One, state officials said Friday, still will involve keeping some businesses closed, while others reopen under strict safety restrictions.
Phase One also will involve continued social distancing, continued teleworking [and] face coverings recommended in public, according to an outline of the plan made public Friday.
How long that phase will last is unclear, but State Health Commissioner Norman Oliver said he expects it to be in effect until medical countermeasures like a treatment or vaccine are rolled out broadly.
I, personally, think Phase One will be a two-year affair, Oliver said. There are a lot of people working on this, and I hope they prove me wrong, but I dont see it happening in less than two years.

our idiot CA governor or emperor will out-do that 2 years..
Norhtam’s Regulations are only gonna apply to the part of the State he governs. Richmond and Fairfax county and thats about it. Virginias Sheriffs have already put Northam on notice about firearms.
F#ck thiw guy.
no two years!
Shoe polish is hard to get off.
Sanity is not Ralph Northam’s strong suit. He is on a ROLL, people, and he ignores the Virginia state motto only at great personal peril.
While Northern Virginia is the tail that wags the dog, do not expect the remainder of the state to remain passive.
That gives him more time to murder as many defenseless babies as possible. I imagine he has their cause of death reported as a probable CV death in order to increase the numbers and keep his State closed forever. He is one of the most vile and despicable human beings alive.
He has him a Police State now and he’s not going to give it up
2 years of phase one which maybe starts mid June. Are you folks in VA really going to stand for this?
May the most Puissant Governor of Virginia be afflicted
with the lead from a thousand ghetto windowsills between his eyes.
May his face blacken and may his raiment be of the most fine white Samite with a conical hat placed upon his lordly brow.
Amen
"Everyone must wear their own PBFM (personal blackface mask)."
Northam’s plan:
- First, we’ll wrap you in blankets and make you comfortable
- second, we’ll let the commies discus your fate with the donkeys
- third, we’ll save the donkeys and euthanize the red necks who call themselves patriots
- the process may take a couple of years, but who’s counting, Mitch will pay
- we get the national illegals to put y’all in body bags
- then we’ll open the economy. No virus, no republicans, no dissent
- yay! Donkeys win...donkeys win!
No, he controls NoVA, which includes Alexandria,Arlington County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, and Fairfax County.
Fairfax (1), Prince William (2), and Loudoun (4)constitute three of the four largest counties in the state by population. Fairfax has 1.1 million alone, by far the largest. Arlington County is number 9. More than a third of the population lives in NoVA. Toss in most of the major cites that are under Dem control and you can understand why VA is now a solid blue state. It is the only way Northam could get away with what he is doing.
This should about do it. Let me know when its storm the capital day again. I’ll make my flight arrangements.
People of VA, NY, PA, MI, IL, CA may never get beyond Phase One.
Of course, pathetic little snowflakes will shelter in dark corners for months instead of going outside enjoying life in the sunshine with its UV rays that kills Convid19.
Up until a few weeks ago it was called telecommuting.
How’s the judicial system in VA ? The rural counties will sue and win freedom, then up the chain. This is illegal.
...yet their ignorant voters think they are so smart, so original...when they are just spewing their script of predetermined propaganda puke.
