I found a couple of websites where people complained about the Sacramento Bee. The complaints revolved around sharp price increases for subscriptions in the past few years, combined with the shrinking of the size of the newspaper.

People were complaining about paying more for far less quantity of news and information.

Undoubtedly the loss of subscribers has contributed to the downward spiral of that newspaper. You can’t just raise the price and give the customer less and stay in business, in any business

Media has only one purpose. It isn’t to report news or hold government accountable or guard the First Amendment. Their sole aim is to sell advertising. Everything else is an adjunct. So the media has zealously used this pandemic to attack President Trump and shut down the economy to prevent his re-election. No economy, no advertising. They cut off their noses to spite their faces. No sympathy here and I am disgusted that they are using a scheme to say the subscriptions will be tax deductible.

So little positive news coming out of this WuFlu debacle; makes it even nicer when a little nugget like this pops up.

Well, bye!

All printed press/media should be allowed to die a miserable death during this virus pandemic. Slow, fake news that gets your hands dirty to even touch the darn things.

Newspapers are the buggy whips of the modern media age. They won't survive much longer anyway, virus or not.

None of them should be bailed out or propped up because of this pandemic. They should convert to online editions or just go out of business. There is plenty of news to be had online already.

I haven't taken or read a hardcopy newspaper for over 20 years and I still am able to stay up with current events. They are old school vestiges of the way it used to be, not the way of the future.

Let this pandemic be their opportunity to die a quick death.

I think The Seattle Times got more than a million dollars from one of the relief packages. You’d think the Bee would have gotten something too.

So in order to read their plea for help I must turn off my ad blocker or pay $ to subscribe? Really?

ya just gotta love how the Democrat propaganda organs are now reduced to begging for money ...

“The response to this pandemic is the biggest story of our lives. At The Sacramento Bee, we feel a significant responsibility to report and share with you the full picture.
Our team published 670 stories in March, plus dozens of videos, Q&As, newsletters and voice updates.”

absolutely guaranteed every story is doom and gloom, supportive of shutting the economy down forever, 100% supportive of the Democrats and Ice Cream Nancy, and attacking President Trump for everything he did, and every article about HCQ trashing it, and not a single positive article about a single thing President Trump did ...

gosh, and then they wonder why they’re about to go bankrupt ...

Our local paper, The Southeast Missourian, is asking for subscriptions and donations. This after cutting back from six days a week to three because of the virus. They’re being hit by a double whammy. Fewer people read newspapers anymore—my wife does, that’s why we still subscribe—and ad revenue is way off because of the closure of so many stores.

The sports page now runs stories about how good the local high school teams were and how the new coach at the university is going to turn things around—if there is a season.

Frankly I don’t see the paper surviving.

The Babylon Bee is more of a news organization then these twits. Let them rot!

I was in kommiefornia for awhile for my job. I remember the Modesto Bee, the Fresno Bee and the Sacramento Bee.

I assume they're all a part of the same dysfunctional media outlet?

Regardless, they were all three nothing but liberal propaganda hacks.
