A good step, but not much help to small businesses. In two weeks the walleye season opens in Minnesota... this is a huge thing in Minnesota. Resorts, local restaurants, marinas and bait shops are still closed. Many of the lake resort cabins are family run small businesses that are booked for opening weekend sometimes years in advance. They are not year round resorts and the May-October bookings are their only income. While public boat ramps and state park campgrounds are open, these resorts are where many stay for opening weekend. Small town restaurants and bars in these lake areas are also closed by Governor’s order. The continued shutdown will be the end of these small businesses and northern Minnesota will be devastated by Gov. Walz’s poor judgement. There has been no spike in new Corona virus cases, hospitals have not been overrun and healthcare personnel are being furloughed due to the lack of patients

The smart ones around here never closed. Bars, bait shops, some cafes and resorts will be open, whether some unConstitutional edict is laid down, or not.
Lose your livelihood and starve, or ignore some fascist in the big city? We’re open.
