Well, other than:
1 - he didn’t say lysol
2 - he didn’t say you should do it
3 - he didn’t say it would work.
Other than that, sure, they are not twisting his words.
He had a stupid idea, and said the doctors should look into it. And I imagine the doctors spent the 3 seconds it needed, and dismissed it, and you won’t hear it again.
I often wondered what the first meeting was like when somebody walked into the room and said “You know, I bet we could fix cancer if we just injected you with poison”.
I don't know about that first meeting, but that is what is done with chemotherapy. Somebody is laughing (evilly) all the way to the bank.
