There are speculative articles making gentle claims that Type 2 Diabetes is a /forme fruste/ version of Systematic Lupus Erythomatosus.

The Dr’s that say they would not in this poll would prescribe it in secret
and would never admit to it.
An AP poll yesterday supposedly indicated that 80% “support stay-at-home measures.” Well, many people might support the current plan for hotspots and those really at risk, but the current plan does not keep all the restrictions for everyone forever. I say the AP poll is misleading at best.

My best guess is that HCQ will not come up to the results of its most enthusiastic boosters but it will have a mild positive effect.
Saying it should be given only to less sick people is changing the rules - because most of them recover with or without it.
If you wanted to study only people with normal or slight ferritin elevation, CRP <5 mg/dL, and oxygen requirement less that 5L/minute, the number needed to show a difference between Rx and no Rx would be thousands, maybe tens of thousands.
