A major Chinese city has adopted draconian quarantine measures against the novel coronavirus after a new outbreak was detected there.
More than 70 people have been infected and over 4,000 are being tested in Harbin after the virus was believed to be 'imported' into the city by a student who had returned from New York, according to media reports.
Officials have banned gatherings and ordered communities to closely monitor non-local visitors and vehicles in the city of around 10 million.
Checkpoints have been installed at the airport and train stations, to screen those coming from elsewhere......
Before entering any public facilities and residential complexes, people must use a government-approved health app to prove they don't have the virus, have their temperature taken and wear a face mask, the notice says.
Residents must follow social-distancing measures. Weddings, funerals, public performances and conferences are banned.

You are right-what most people had before maybe late December or early January or later was this years’ regular flu-not Wuhan-people are just buying into that sh** of it already being here, etc because they don’t want to believe the Chinese are capable of stealth-bombing us with a biological weapon delivered by our very own tourists returning here from China trips on planes, getting on cruise ships, etc.
I’m not foolish enough to put anything past a repressive regime in the country that was ruled with an iron fist by Mao for so long-I don’t care how much trade we do with them, they are still the Chicoms and not to be trusted...
I live in a rural county that is sparsely populated-less than 20,000 people-and only one real “town”. There have been only 4 documented cases of the Wuhan virus here-all recovered-2 were under 65, the other 2 were over 80-all 4 people either had traveled to the city of SA-50 miles away-recently or had a family member who had done so...
We seldom have many cases of the “regular” flu out here, so nobody thinks they had the Wuhan in October-or anytime before March-that was when people started coming out here from the city to raid our few stores of essentials their neighborhood stores were out of-and were pissed when store owners refused to let them load up and empty shelves-selfish and entitled people...
Since then, a lot of my neighbors have thought they had regular flu-I may have had a mild case last month myself-like me, they took a homeopathic remedy and got better like always-if it was the Wuhan instead, then we have started to build a herd immunity here and in other rural areas-also, people here appear to have really good immunity overall-maybe because we live around chickens and other livestock all the time-almost none of us use prescription drugs and we take supplements, eat organic food etc-mainly, I think it is because we do not live in crowded conditions, and most of us work outdoors in our businesses-I could be mistaken, but it seems logical...
If this was true, Trump could send MORE students of theirs back to all their provinces to assist with herd immunity.
We are slowing the spread not stopping it. You will be exposed sooner or later. Just like your are to the flu.
The only difference this is a novel corona virus. The other ones have been around awhile and therefore do not kill very many in any given year. Once this one has been around for awhile it will not kill as many either.
US annual deaths = 2,900,000
WuFlu = 60,000
Well, the Asian strain of this COVID-19 seems to be not particularly lethal. That’s the strain that’s on the West Coast of the US (Washington, California, etc.).
However, the strain on the East Coast likely came from Europe (Italy, Spain, England, etc.) - and seems to be much more fatal.
Just an observation. If the student returned from NYC, maybe it’s prudent to quarantine them. Not siding with CCP on this, but I wouldn’t want to introduce the two strains to each other - as there are already 30+ different strains, do we want another “super” COVID-19?
You believe this story?
I believe nothing coming out of China.
