Jobless claim filings continued at a historically unprecedented pace last week with 4.4 million new signups for unemployment insurance, bringing the total of the past five weeks to 26.4 million, the Labor Department said Thursday. The number represented a decline of 810,000 from the previous week, but the five-week total has now surpassed all of the job gains since the Great Recession.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had expected 4.3 million new claims.

The elites and govt workers have hardly been touched. They don’t understand why people who have lost their job or small business are revolting. Another week like this and those demonstrations are going to go up like one of their model curves— exponentially.
And I will be there two.

President Trump worked so hard to get unemployment rates down.. It’s mind numbing to see them go so high, so fast. Praying for our country getting back to work soon! Praying for President Trump continued strength and courage.

Unemployment could be hovering around 20%

Plus all the chronically, multi-generationally unemployables.

Since you seem to have invented cloning, you have nothing to worry about - you are about to be a very rich man. :)

We’re entering depression-level economic destruction.

It's not that they don't understand. It's just that they don't give a shit. And they wonder why most people can't stand government parasites. The day of reckoning is near.

The workers didn’t lose their jobs, it was not theirs to lose, they didn’t own it, the entrepreneur did. Wage slaves are just that, the money they were “making” was the property of the Fed, one cannot “own” money, you just have it in your hand as a social contract to exchange my goods and services with your goods and services, using a commonly held belief system. The article is full of unspoken assumptions and null concepts.

Anonymous Modern slaves are not in chains, they are in debt.

Proverbs 22:7 (NIV), “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”

Cicero Whoever gives his labor for money sells himself and puts himself in the rank of slaves

Norm Fra Brought Gold is the money of kings, silver is the money of gentlemen, barter is the money of peasants – but debt is the money of slaves.”

Government ‘workers’ are becoming more and more our betters, they all know what’s best for us. Stay home and go bankrupt while we still get our paychecks while doing nothing and taxpayers fund their retirement accounts. Life is great!

Small business owners, not so great, if they had any money invested, it’s been beat up. Meanwhile, their employees are looking for jobs elsewhere, they have no income, and don’t know whether they’ll have any business in the next few months. It’s great to be a part of the ruling class!

sorry, but to be blunt, when you spout economic theory at a time like this, who the hell cares. I sure don’t.

forget about theory - deal with the reality that the ONE, or at least the LARGEST, part of the foundation President Trump could have used to argue for his re-election has been erased, i.e., the job market and the economy.

Both the job market and the economy are gone and vanished, thanks to the attitudes of people like the FEAR bros on this board and the nation’s governors and the moronic epidemic modelers and President Trump himself.

The president helped to create his own petard and now he is hoist by it.

There is barely enough time for the president to at least show a dramatically improving economy to justify his reelection.

Even worse, Election Day occurs so early this year that there will be a new jobs report for the USA (for October results) that will be posted a few days AFTER the November election.

The days are becoming scant before doom comes a-knocking to destroy everything we love about America.

These statistics are MEANINGLESS!

This situation is UNIQUE, TEMPORARY, and FORCED.

It has ZERO correlation to any “unemployment” situation in the past. So reporting these numbers as compared to past numbers is RIDICULOUS!

NOBODY GO TO WORK! NOBODY LEAVE YOUR HOUSE!

SHOCKED, as unemployment rises toward the level of the “Great Depression”, as if this has ANYTHING to do with the “Great Depression”.

Just like you can’t be “a little bit pregnant” and totalitarian regimes can’t allow “a little bit of freedom”, you can’t voluntarily maintain a quarantine/lockdown.

Once people decide to end this, there will be an unstoppable BREAK OUT! The quarantine/lockdown will COLLAPSE!

It is starting, it won’t be long!

It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), ‘til I belong to you
Every night when everybody has fun
Here am I sitting all on my own
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), ‘til I belong to you
Since you left me, I’m so alone
Now you’re coming, you’re coming on home
I’ll be good like I know I should
You’re coming home, you’re coming home
Every night the tears come down from my eyes
Every day I’ve done nothing but cry
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), ‘til I belong to you
Since you left me, I’m so alone
Now you’re coming, you’re coming on home
I’ll be good like I know I should
You’re coming home, you’re coming home
So every day we’ll be happy, I know
Now I know that you won’t leave me no more
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
It won’t be long yeah (yeah), ‘til I belong to you

And still President Trump throws Governor Kemp under the bus for daring to open up the economy of Georgia.

If President Trump loses in November, it will entirely be of his own making.

Question: As recipients of the recently passed legislation directing employers to place their employees back on the payroll, will the employees now come off the unemployment rolls and bring down the rate??
