The answer is ‘yes’. Can they do it? Sure....from somebody that has to consider AI/ML applications all the time.
It’s almost as though we’re in the movie “They Live”. The world around us that we don’t see also controls us.

Masks work much better with distance. Epidemic masks aren’t so bad, after you get accustomed to them. At least they’re not gas masks, and no one is required to run while wearing them. I can say from experience, that combat gas masks are far worse when running and carrying loads in summer heat.
