Excellent analysis. The VA chart review was garbage and only showed that HCQ was used in advanced cases so outcomes worse; selection bias. Other studies also used HCQ too late, so again poor outcomes. No Zinc was used.
I think these people are waiting for vaccine and new antivirals. More money as usual than a drug that been around since 60s

The function of hydroxychloroquine is to get zinc through the cell wall membrane. There, it attacks the virus and keeps it from replicating.
The latest NIH study did not include zinc, as you point out, is the case of all the negative studies. That ‘’study’’ was on a small group of very, very sick, elderly people. The elderly almost universally have a moderate to severe zinc deficiency.
Nice to see some balanced talk of CM/PP. I have not liked his stuff thus far (but not posting to make any points about that). Glad to hear him pointing these things out. Thanks for posting.
