But there are no drugs, vaccines or magic incantations that had been scientifically vetted because it was a new disease. Rather than refusal, the proper response would have been to quickly organize double-blind testing to promising treatments. Since the treatment cycle is five days you could have the first round of testing designed, implemented, and waiting for post drug evaluation in a week. But I would bet there is a lot more than scientific caution behind this. New drugs get you a million dollar job as a VP or head researcher at pharmaceutical company. Effective generic treatments keep you at your civil service job.

This President would never remove someone so far down the ladder. This was a decision made by other MDs who knew this fellow was a screwball.
