Is that Sadaharu Oh’s former team?

Most definitely. One of the reasons why the Yomiuri Giants remain one of the top fan favorites to this day.

Couple of interesting tidbits you may not have known about Oh:

1. His mother was Japanese; his father was a Chinese Nationalist who moved to Taiwan after the Communists came to power in the 1949 Civil War. Oh chose to retain his Nationalist Chinese citizenship in honor of his father.
   
2. Oh, like Babe Ruth, begin his professional baseball career as a pitcher with the Yomiuri Giants in 1959. Like Ruth, he was just too good with the bat not to play everyday and was converted to a position player, mostly at first base.
