It was a retrospective study, not a clinical trial. And in regard to Wilkie’s statement about it working on younger veterans —
In the VA retrospective study all of the patients were male, the median age was approximately 70; two thirds were black and all of the patients were overweight (BMI above 25). The median body mass index was 30 which is considered “obese.”
Males, blacks, obesity are all indicators of poorer outcomes with covid.
So observational and not clinical. Just like the one he's criticizing.
