This pandemic has changed so much about America, but at least one thing unfortunately remains the same. Our national political dialogue is still dominated by denizens of the right and left directing blame at someone on the other side. Democrats accuse the president of incompetence. The White House blames Democratic governors for dropping the ball. However powerful this virus may be, it appears not to have been forceful enough to overcome the impulse to partisanship. And thats a shame.
Fortunately, what we read on the front page, see on social media, and watch on cable news is not the sum total of whats happening within the public sector. Differing layers of government even bureaucracies controlled variously by Democrats and Republicans are working toward solutions on a whole variety of fronts. The House Problem Solvers Caucus, evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans, has just released the first bipartisan comprehensive plan for reopening the country. And a wide range of members of Congress on both sides of the aisle are applying their various expertise to the diverse aspects of this multifaceted challenge.
Heres what is so frustrating: If the public saw what was really happening among serious-minded legislators if they could get a real perspective on whats happening behind the vitriol they would likely be quite proud and impressed with how some of our leaders are handling the crisis. So heres a challenge for everyone tracking the crisis on a day-to-day basis: For every story you see about who is to blame for some element of the present crisis, look to highlight a story of someone who is helping to point the way out someone like Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana (pictured above).
Cassidy, a gastroenterologist with a history of dealing with infectious disease, worked diligently in private...

Fourth paragraph and nothing has been written related to the headline.
If Democrat governors were in danger of immediate recall elections and ejection from office by, say, June 1st, do you think they would dare issue some of these orders?
Blame the governors?
Trump doesn’t really want to assign blame where it belongs. He should. Blame belongs on the Alphabet Swamp that depleted essential supplies, did not replace them, fumbled the production of tests by breaking their own rules, resisting his calls to unleash the private sector capacity to test, resisting his calls to loosen access to HQC. And they are either in rebellion, or resistance, or they are so mired in red tape they can’t act quickly.
These are supposedly “career professionals” with 1 main job: Protect the American people. They failed to prepare and failed to act and worried more about how they look and feel than how they perform - because nobody ever holds them to performance review. They’ll ask for more money next year when really we should cut them in half.
And the hypocrisy is astounding. They demand the most rigorous testing for HQC. But they have no proof that stay at home orders, which are pretty lax anyway (you can go to the market, the liquor store, the drug store, the pot shops etc) are effective at preventing disease spread. It is just anecdotal. They take it on faith that it is working, but they don’t know that it is working any more than they know HQC works. But they pretend that social distance is proven, while they demur on the HQC. They don’t even know if this so-called 14 day recovery time is adequate. It is totally arbitrary. People can have the antibodies and the virus at the same time and could be contagious for many weeks. 14 days to get over symptoms maybe. But to be totally virus free? Totally unproven.
How about we line up 10 of President Trump’s worst enemies and 10 of his most ardent supporters. Each gets his/her choice of personal weapons. Survivors win and looser can’t say another word about President Trump.
I know, and I was up to the limit of 300 words. Some articles are like that, the Freerepublic might have pulled it if I had started in the middle.
Fire all democrats.
Jail the media
I would really like to know why Trump has not used his powers to create 1000 more Abbott labs and have them producing machines and tests 24/7.
Why couldn’t enough machines and tests be produced so that come fall any schools in danger zones can test on a daily or weekly basis.
Why can’t there be enough produced so that private enterprise can purchase them at will? Use the NFL for example. Why couldn’t the NFL plan to have 1000 machines operating at each game site come the fall?
Malls, grocery chains, large restaurants, churches could all have cooperative agreements where testing is available to anyone who plans on entering.
It really disheartens me when I consistently hear that this can’t be done. seemingly just because the chorus of cynics, sadly led by President Trump, says it can’t be done.
Abbott has produced hundreds of thousands of machines and tests. 1000 Abbotts and we’d be tripping over the machines coming out of doors and this virus would disappear overnight.
So what’s the plan. Read the whole article and never read anything about the plan.
How about we do that, but instead wipe out their ten before they even leave the locker room?
That is the type of ferocity that can defeat the Left.
Trump needs to go MORE Thug Life, not less.
