Michigan Sheriff predicts disobedience will end Whitmer's lockdown
WJR (Detroit talk radio) Frank Beckman

Posted on 04/22/2020 7:50:44 AM PDT by WhoisAlanGreenspan?

Livingston County (Michigan) Sheriff Mike Murphy being interviewed by Frank Beckman today said he thinks Governor Gretchen Whitmer's "stay home - stay safe" economic lockdown of the state has been too heavy handed and that people will not tolerate it much longer.

He said it won't be violence in the streets but people will just start to ignore the Governor's order. Violation is a 90 day misdemeanor or one step higher than a speeding ticket. He said it's impossible to enforce and thus far in Livingston county they caught one drunken man who went out for cigarettes and crashed his car.

See the problem with leftists power mongering, is that eventually people realize that they have no actual teeth to enforce what they are doing.

They don’t have the enforcement structures to do a long term lock down unless people cooperate.

Its a sign of stupidity too, because stupid leaders make rules that no one will keep.

Liberals have one problem: they don’t know when to stop. They just can’t help themselves. Whitmer’s ban on buying seeds and outdoor plants was the last straw, I think.

When the shutdowns began, we were told that the goal was to flatten the curve so that hospitals and Healthcare Providers would not be overwhelmed with the huge spike in virus patients.

And we were told although it wasn’t explicitly stated, with these shutdowns would probably last for a couple of weeks.

Now the reasons for the shutdowns have morphed into a concept of staying locked down, until we either have a vaccine or until we have few or no new cases of the virus. And the timing has morphed into being locked down as long as it takes, even if it’s between 12 and 18 months until a vaccine emerges.

I think people were willing to cooperate if they thought they’d be lockdown for 2 weeks versus being locked down indefinitely stretching into next year sometime.

What will perpetuate the lockdown is not government but the plantiff’s bar. Every restaurant, bar, massage parlor, or gym will be the target of lawsuits by thousands of people who will claim that they contracted the virus at their facility and gave it to their grandpa who died from it. As Steve Bannon has said, “Every sneeze is a lawsuit”.

Expect businesses to have people sign a disclaimer before going in that they do not have the virus, have not been in contact with anyone who has it, and waive all liability to the establishment for any injury they might incur from contracting COVID in the facility.

I go to work at 5:30 in the morning. There was at least 50% more vehicles on the road this week versus last week..

People are getting tired of this crap and just ignoring it.

Wouldn't it be easier and more beneficial to society as a whole to just Kill all the Lawyers first??

The “caving” and surrendering Talk is counterproductive it just makes rats double down. She said on Madcow the protests may make her extend the house arrests. She won’t be seen by DNC as being weak and able to be rolled by the “ignorant right wing mob”.

Oh I agree, back in March I believed that we would only be able to tolerate about two weeks of lockdown.

I knew I was right that after that people start resenting the whole concept of the lockdown orders. We’re almost 6 weeks now, I’m actually surprised there haven’t been major incidents of violence against police yet.

They’ve been low key on enforcement and I think that’s saved a lot of officers lives.

Its a sign of stupidity too, because stupid leaders make rules that no one will keep.
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

For sure bring it. I am all for the protests and I have ignored her insane rules. I’m just saying goading is not helpful. Though it may not matter. The Rat goal is to crash the economy as much possible so it probably doesn’t matter what anyone says.

In our corner of SE Pa, people are ignoring the gov’s mask edict, except perhaps for going in the grocery. That’s the latest mandate and people need to eat. When they’re out and about, they mostly go without masks. There is more traffic than a couple of weeks ago and lots of people out walking. We see groups that look like they’re meeting in parks and on trails. Small groups - 4 or 5, but they don’t look like families.

Most Sheriffs are elected by the voters.

Most chiefs of police were hired by the mayors. They carry out the orders of their mayors.
