Yeah, see my post above. I used to have a great trademark attorney. Learned a lot from him, too. He used to do patents. Works for a very large law firm. These days filing trademarks is fairly easy if you have just a little experience and know how to search the TESS system. That TM attorney stopped doing patents - his whole firm stopped doing them - because he said there is too much legal liability. Any time someone sues or challenges a patent, the defendant ends up suing the attorneys for “not drafting it correctly” - whether true or not of course... everyone looks for a lifeboat. Lots of patent trolls out there.
A patent has to demonstrate it’s useful, novel, and not obvious, and the entire process has to become a matter of public record so when the patent expires in 17 years, anyone can then utilize the invention. And then there is the bureaucracy. I think this is a patent for a vaccine against all corona viruses, which is quite a tall order. That means the common cold, too.
President Ronald Reagan said something similar:
"The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'"
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Note the article states it's a vaccine design for the coronavirus family not specifically Covid 19. Presumably in the works for some time. Not to suggest it's not significant.
I hope they don’t let Bill Gates anywhere near it.
