There is that part of the US political psyche that takes rights to a complete extreme, said Brown, adding that mass civil unrest is an ever present possibility due to Americans sharing a deep independent streak that believes the government is a nice-to-have not a must-have.He's not all wrong.

Some foreigners will never “get” America because they fail to read our founding documents.
It’s OUR country, WE are the sovereign.
We LEND our power to the government, they govern with OUR consent.
That consent can be withdrawn.

And why hasn't the ACLU chimed in with their concerns about CIVIL LIBERTIES? They're quite conspicuous by their silence.

Long overdue. If youre not willing to fight for liberty then you have no right to it.
To the libs a peaceful protest by conservatives is violent unrest.
We will start with peaceful demonstrations. Lets see how the fascists react.

I have always drawn a distinction between the ‘civil’ and ‘uncivil’. It’s kinda obvious after all, isn’t it. What’s wrong with a little civilized protest? What government officials, and I mean individual gubbermint elected officials should fear, is protest of the uncivil variety. They should be damn scared actually. This tension should exist in our society and I believe our founding fathers intentionally wrote our constitution to allow it. It is a healthy and natural thing for a free people to do when tyranny has become the norm. Our constitution has an escalation built in - free elections, free speech, free press, peaceably assemble, petition grievances and then the freedom to bear arms. The latter is there for a purpose and it must have been on the minds of our founding fathers given that they just rebelled.
