Hundreds of National Guard personnel are being activated in Iowa as coronavirus sweeps through meat-processing plants in a state that accounts for about a third of U.S. pork supply.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds said 250 National Guard members have been moved to full-time federal duty status and could help with testing and contact tracing for workers at plants operated by Tyson Foods Inc. and National Beef Packing Co.

How many of those workers are illegals, and likely to run when they see Guardsmen? Thus, spreading things further, as happened when China closed off Wuhan to the rest of China, but not international travel.

They had 90 out of 1600 workers at a Tyson plant in Goodlettsville, Tennessee tested positive yesterday.

I don’t think they closed the plant. They said they were working with the health department on safety measures.

As I understand, there have been no cases of infection via food.

I don’t know how you would detect that you got it from food.

But I think if you cook meat, it’s likely to kill off anything on the outside.

And your digestive tract would brutalize it too.

I can guaran-dam-tee everyone that a whole lot of them speak little to no English, as opposed to guys who worked the Iowa packs even into the 1980's. Whether it was at Fort Dodge, Waterloo or Dubuque, those were good paying jobs for local men and while not the most fragrant or scenic spots, they supported more than just convenience stores and bodegas.

We had family who lived good middle-class lives working at a pack. Iowa set itself on fire in the 1980's at the behest of the elite.

How many of these meat packing companies, like Smithfield, are now owned by the ChiComs? No more Smithfield pork products in our home!

How many of those with the virus, are illegal aliens?

What other commonalities do these workers share with each other besides the CV virus?

“I don’t think they closed the plant. They said they were working with the health department on safety measures.”

As they should. If the action is to shut down the plants once someone is sick, eventually we will have to eat our pets. This world is not made to shut down! The industrial revolution came with risks and rewards.

Someone else will have to get you specifics.

Most of the older ones changed hands once or twice, and a lot of them shut down (in Fort Dodge, Tobin was sold to Hormel, then Hormel later closed it). Things really changed when the "swinging meat trains" out of Iowa stopped.

Thanks.

According to some of my wife’s relatives in the midwest, many of the major pork slaughter/packing companies are now owned by the ChiComs.

Heard a pork plant owned by the Chinese in the middle of the country was visited by their owners from Wuhan before the outbreak and now this is a hot spot.
