Here's when all 50 states plan to reopen after coronavirus restrictions

Governors are beginning to announce timelines for relaxing strict measures taken to mitigate the coronavirus. Many states are dropping stay-at-home orders beginning May 1, while several states have not yet announced an end to restrictions.

At the federal level, President Trump last week issued guidelines “that will allow governors to take a phased and deliberate approach to reopening their individual states.”

“Governors will be empowered to tailor an approach that meets the diverse circumstances of their own states,” Trump said. “And some states will be able to open up sooner than others.”

Health officials are warning states not to reopen businesses or allow large gatherings too quickly, for fear of a resurgence of COVID-19 cases. But governors are under pressure to stimulate local economies that have been hit hard by closures. Many states plan a phased approach to reopening in an effort to balance priorities.

Here are the reopening timelines announced so far by all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

So they’re telling us when we’re “allowed” to resume normal lives. How nice of them.

Look at that headline. I was right, Trumps “guidelines” were/are considered an order. The shutdown is on him, can’t blame govs following federal “guidelines”.

Unforced error IMHO.

I don’t know where you get that from the headline. The governors make the call for the state. I am involved in the reopening planning for a major international company, and the plan is once the government green lights reopening, then we evaluate our readiness, with a slow phased approach. The green light is the beginning of the decision making on dates, not the final word.

Just as I suspected, Dictator Murphy in NJ probably has no plans at all to open the state, or it’ above his pay grade.

Read it again...

Govs make decisions “AFTER” lifting of “RESTRICTIONS” implying they had no choice. My idiot TN gov uses those terms. He says “orders” and once said lockdown “laws”.

The perception is it’s all federally ordered.

I live in LA (Lower Alabama) and I have not be affected all that much by the pandemic overreaction. I have a comfortable and secure retirement income but the unexpected $2400 deposit in my bank this month was nice and I will probably buy another gun and perhaps a new fishing reel with it. The wife will probably spend the rest on QVC. So for me its been a plus. I know, it sucks for those who died from it but I think it has been given too much prominence considering all the others who have died of other causes in numbers far larger than this Chinese flu.

When people start seeing others doing stuff they want to do, gov’s who do NOT open their states up will be in danger of becoming “road kill”

Most of the naysayers are blue states.
Maybe President Trump can pick off one or rwo of these states

Just do it

There’s not nearly enough death and hospitalizations to justify wrecking the economy

Plus the demographics and by the way my 70-year-old cousin had it and it slammed in for a couple of days but he’s now doing fine and yes he has underlying health issues

I just looked at the CDC website today there’s between 40 to 50 to 60,000,000 cases of the flu every yearIt’s only caring flu season defined from October 1 to April 4

Then why didn’t they start around Easter when it was floated? READ what I wrote, I’m pointing out that the PERCEPTION was the “guidelines” were an order.

Gov Lee even says it flat out all the time. That’s all I’m pointing out. Yes, he is a coward and should have started the opening a week ago. We have almost no cases or deaths. But he thinks he is following orders.

I’m just saying.

California

There is no set end date for California's stay-at-home order. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has joined a multistate task force, along with Oregon and Washington, to discuss reopening. He warned that some restrictions, such as masks in restaurants and bans against large gatherings, will stay in place through the summer. Schools are closed through the rest of the school year.

I see this as a win win politically for our President.
Many governors are not opening till June and starting to feel the heat from the populace

Virginia is almost last to reopen. I think Wisconsin is last. Klan man Northam wanted to impact the republican primary so his order has been extended.

Doesn’t matter. By Nov this will be forgotten and the left will be on another attack.

And it will fail too.
