The virus seems to be quite the opportunist, attacking the body at it’s weakest point, which varies, person by person.
Since I self identify as having at least 3 comorbidity factors, I prefer to behave cautiously, but rationally.
Many moons ago, in a land far far away, I had a job in the US military, where I would jump out of an airplane, freefall, with my body position mimicking a ski jumper, but with my head down and my feet up, reaching a speed of 180 mph. This is known as a maximum track body position. At the same time, my teammate across the sky was doing the same thing, and we headed intentionally towards each other, where the closing speed or impact speed would be equal to 360 mph. We wore M-18 smoke grenades on our boots, and we would trace the shape of a diamond in the sky with the red smoke.
We were airshow performers, and no other skydiving team at the time chose to perform the maneuver (that I’m aware of) due to the inherent risk. A very unfortunate accident happened to two future team members when they collided head on while performing the diamond track maneuver. One was killed instantly, and the other had both of his legs severed by the head and torso of his instantly killed teammate.
I don’t report this to brag, but to say to any foolish poster that wants to accuse me of being afraid, in a panic, being a cuck, or a worse pejorative, they can pound sand, because I am not curled up in a fetal position in an underground bunker, awaiting the end times out of an uncontrollable fear of COVID19. I don’t wear Chuck Norris pajamas either. I wear my long distance hiking base layer with my own image on them. BOOM!
I have taken note that the people more civil, more knowledgeable and logical seem to be the ones with an interesting history.
Along with the debate winning name calling, it is said we have fear. “The FearBros”.......which would be very funny in my case if it wasn’t out of such hatred.
I respect life. All life. The old, those with medical issues and the unborn.
I thought being pro-life was a conservative value.
But now I learn if Life comes between a BBQ Wings dinner, the old, fat, diabetics, cardiac patients can just piss off.
