Home school advocates say the forced shutdown of nearly the nation’s entire public school system has created a unique opportunity for parents to weigh the benefits of joining the millions of American students already doing their learning at home.
Further, proponents say this unprecedented occurrence offers a window for parents into some of the pitfalls of public schooling, including weak academic standards, ideologically driven curricula and the over-sexualization of the nation’s youth from an early age.
“The number one hardest decision to make has been made for 55 million children,” longtime home-school advocate and founding board member of Public School Exit Ray Moore told The Western Journal regarding parents making the switch.

Let’s hope so . . .considering where the public school curricula is taking these unsuspecting children. I remember a prayer at the beginning of each day in my PUBLIC SCHOOL..unfortunately it didn’t continue throughout the years. Now the pledge is out the window in some schools and if intact, many students are facing worn and tattered flags in their classrooms. I’ve contacted our local Veterans’ group. You might take a look and see what shape your district’s flags are in.
we are experiencing proof that large campuses are unnecessary. Much of school including college can be done at home or a distance.
Unfortunately liberal faculties and unions control education no matter white’s best for the kids.
Athletes can play for town teams and then go into the majors. Schools don’t need those large facilities and 30 sports teams.
Libraries can be online.
I had such hopes. We home schooled out kids for some years, and they could get their work done quickly (and without socialist brainwashing).
They I saw a video of a family of 4 kids, dealing with their public school from home.
They were on a schedule. All has their ‘screens’ and used Zoom to get the teacher’s lesson at a specific time. Each kid (different grades) had a different schedule. Not like homeschooling at all.
Could not stop for a break to go chase the dog, and come back to the math module for example.
Whole family was locked into the school schedule.
Just the opposite of homeschooling. More like intensified public school brainwashing without any personal contact with any student. Hmmm maybe less violence against teachers? And no individual encouragement.
So I see, in this case, a big brother, computer control scheme.
My nephew has gone back to college fulltime. Most of his courses are online. There are only a handful he has to attend personally.

I prefer Wuhan Cootie Virus myself. I see women walking down the street with masks on and no one else on the street for a mile. Some people really get into this thing.
Another benefit is being able to reduce School Taxes. The fewer students then the lower the taxes can be.
Govt schooling at home is NOT homeschooling.
Parents should unplug completely from the subversive indoctrination spigot of govt misinformation in any form.
If the WuFlu can take down this social monstrosity THAT would be a cause for celebration.

Absolutely right. Get sports out of the schools. Have community and independent sports associations.

I’ve noticed locally most of the better baseball players are playing for the Babe Ruth league teams instead if the local JV and Varsity school teams.
Let local businesses support the teams by supplying uniforms and equipment in exchange for local publicity.
The money saved can be used to pay down debt or lower property taxes.
