I live in Northern Virginia and from what I’m seeing the virus is going to have a rough time. It seems like everyone is wearing a mask and gloves. Not just at the stores, but also driving down the road and even when they go out to walk the dog around the block. It is just strange to see someone driving alone in a car wearing a mask. I wonder if they change out to a new mask before going to bed?
Fear is a terrible thing. Some are afraid of the virus, the rest are fearful of criticism. I’m in a high risk group (70 years old) and have no fear of coronavirus. I of course wash my hands, keep my fingers away from my face. I refuse to wear a mask unless someone asks me to for their peace of mind.
Almost all serious scientists have said that it is not easy to catch this virus by casual contact (like shopping or dining out). The primary risk is prolonged exposure in densely populated closed spaces (like conference rooms, seniors homes, lots of people crammed into small homes or apartments or in health care settings). Out of about 129 outbreaks in Virginia 77 are in nursing homes, about 10 are in other group home environments and corrections facilities.
State governments want to scare the crap out of all of us because it makes it easier to take away our rights. We are finding out that at least half of our population are either tyrants or enablers of tyrants.
