NYC had too many flights from Europe where it was infected at the time. Then people rode the subway spreading the virus. If it wasn’t for mass transit, I think we would had stopped it in time. Look at West Coast. They had flights from China but didn’t get out of control like NYC.

Agreed. Understanding why West Coast did better than NYC is essential Even more important than establishing blame we need to identify the causes for NYC’s severe course and ready a plan for the next time. If it is the subway/mass transit a plan can help.

If an outbreak is detected mass transport could be shut down early for 2 weeks. Plans for remote work should be in place at any companies where that solution works. They should think about remote working on a rotating basis all the time so that the system functions smoothly.

Essential large employers could work out a deal with hotels or plan bus pickups of their workers from designated sites. Even though that would be a modified mass transport they could supply masks & gloves & do spot temperature checks pre-boarding, much safer.
