This has become an all too familiar pattern. Monday-Friday the more rational heads prevail in the news cycle. Talk of collateral damage being deeper than the virus, other experts, true talk of total patient population, talk of China’s criminal action, talk of a balanced plan to open up while social distancing, etc. These directly fly in the face of the media doom and gloom fear narrative.
Then, the weekend comes and the media tries to clawback what it has lost. We get polls and the Sunday Morning crew pimping whatever “get Trump” narrative that the Dems want to float this week.
And so the media continues its pitching endless lockdown. May I note that even Bill Maher is onto its. What the media is blissfully unawares of is that the left wing constituencies are staring to feel the pain. No Hollywood productions, Universities furloughing all staff, athletes having their pay withheld, and on and on.
In short, the perpetual shutdown to get Trump crew is losing this battle BIGLY. And not because of Trump pushing re-opening but because their lefty governors in NY and NJ are starting to realize that no Federal bailout of their states is imminent.
As for the poll, I have always theorized that if the democrat party adopted burning kittens and puppies alive as a policy plank, the media would cook up a poll showing overwhelming support.
