They're not isolated; there are plenty of non-school events to go to.

I've also noticed that home-schooled kids are a lot more popular than public-schooled kids. My theory is that they have more confidence and manners - a combination that wins friends.

One of my daughters was in a college class with two of her homeschool friends. She said each of them was placed in charge of the three small groups because they were the only ones that engaged with the other students.
