Amazon still has some - might give them a try.

Set it an forget it. This can put out O3 for two hours on its timer. And at a great price. Buy two and they will clean any room.

Unfortunately, the square footage of treatment is nowhere to be found.

That is the unit that I have. It is rated at 100 cubic feet per minute. So that is how much air it sucks through and treats I’m assuming. 8’ tall ceiling and a 12’ x 12’ room would be 1152 cubic feet, divide by 100 is 11 minutes.

Although it will obviously be treating the air near the machine more than stuff in the far corners. For a room I would but in a regular fan to get the air circulating. Run it for 15 minutes and do a smell test.

I read at one site that said if it smells like bleach that is too much time. You want it to smell like right after a thunderstorm (ozone). When I set mine up in the trunk of the car with groceries and set it for 30 minutes it smells like bleach. And the thin plastic grocery bags have holes in them. (It will damage latex and nitrile gloves too. And masks.)

But in your house, too much can damage the carpet, paintings, etc. So maybe place it in the middle of the room with a fan. Run it for 15 minutes and crack open the door to take a quick smell as a test. We have some remote plugins for Christmas lights so if I have run it in the house I’ll hook it up to that and set it for 2 hours and turn it on remotely. Check every 15 minutes and when it smells like it is “done”, turn it off and wait an hour for the hazardous ozone to dissipate. Or hold my breath as I open up a window.

Below is an article regarding the “regular” flu virus. The Covid-19 virus has the same type of protective shell as the flu virus, and is still just a bunch of RNA (DNA?) code. The UVC light disrupts the code.

I have read a lot of articles and they all have a disclaimer of “While this method (mask, uvc, ozone, alcohol, etc.) should destroy the Covid-19 virus, it has not been tested on it yet. Although I’m guessing more recent tests have been run on Covid-19.

So that is probably why the manufacturer can’t use it in its advertising.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1854994/

Excerpt:

Although the practical clinical use of UV light as a means for disinfecting the air of respiratory viruses and bacteria is uncertain, the virucidal and bactericidal action, per se, is not in dispute. In vitro studies clearly demonstrate UV light to inactivate 99.99% of influenza virus aerosols.

UV irradiation is used commercially in wastewater and drinking water treatment and is used to pasteurize fruit juices. Mercury vapor lamps emitting UV-C are routinely used to sterilize work areas and equipment in medical facilities and laboratories.

UV-C has been found to be effective in sterilizing blood products. The application of UV light as a bioterrorism defense has been raised elsewhere.

Just run it and the damage it does is minimal. What I bought in January is its brother that puts out 11 grams O3 per hour

Buy 2 of those on ebay at 54$ and you get the equivalent.

You can find comments and ratings on Amazon for this Enerzen model 777
..... I bought the 888 in January. Which puts out twice as much as 777

As always do your research on Amazon. Then buy on ebay

Go buy three on Ebay. You will be astounded at the square footage these clear.

You are using your effective O3 generator the right way. Blast one room per day. Move each day to a new room.

Even if a room is perfect with no baddies or mold, Ozone freshens things up.

Strong arrays of UV lights in HVAC systems for buildings. Can be done at home too.

Ignorant post. Do just a little research on UVa, UVb, and UVc. You couldn’t get as tan from UVc even if you tried.

When no one is going to be in the sanctuary, use three or four ozone generators to freshen up the space. I use the one I have to keep under the house free of molds and pests. Cave crickets litter the plastic under the house after running it for a day when I am not going to be home.

I clean the HVAC ducting by setting mine up at the air return and turning the fan to on and the AC /heat to neutral. The thing runs while I do my errands out side the house and I turn it off when I get home. House smells so fresh and clean!

I was reading about the use of UV light to “disinfect” inside of a person like Trump was talking about. It was an old study from 1928(?) on animals. They infected the animal with something (a bacteria iirc) and then took out the blood and ran it under/through a UV treatment and then back into the animal.

It only took treatment of a portion of the blood (1/4, 1/3 or something) and the animals got better. Not sure if it ever became a treatment for humans. They use UV light for the treatment of water.

There is a ‘light catheter’ that is snaked down the bronchial tubes of intubated patients. It uses far UVc If I recall correctly.
