One of Donald Trumps special talents is to hold every conceivable position on a given subject at the same time. So it is with voting by mail in American elections. The president used a postal ballot to vote in Floridas Republican primary last month. He has also denounced postal voting as an invitation to fraud. He has said voting by mail doesnt work out well for Republicans. And he has said that postal voting should be expanded for older voters and for members of the armed forces, two groups he assumes would favour him in November.
The presidents interventions have turned something that should be uncontroversial into yet another excuse for partisan warfare. America has a presidential election this year. It also has thousands of congressional, state, county and mayoral elections. As the country with the most recorded cases of covid-19, it needs to start planning in case voters cannot get to polling stations. There is only one practical way to hold elections under these circumstances: to expand the use of voting by mail.

In 2018 a Republican strategist in North Carolina allegedly collected and spoiled absentee ballots, which led to a re-run of a congressional election. Back in 1998, 18 people were arrested over a scam involving postal votes in Miamis mayoral election. Such incidents are serious but exceptionally rare. Between 2000 and 2012, a period in which billions of votes were cast, America saw 491 cases of absentee-voting fraud. During that same period 497 Americans were killed by lightning.

No.
The consent of the governed requires, free, fair, OPEN elections. Picture election volunteers counting ballots in the open, FOR ALL TO SEE.
Compare that to mail in, where you ballot effectively goes into a black box and a number pops out at the other end.
And the great majority of ballots will be delivered by...the Post Office.
Apparently even voting by mail is too onerous for the RATS.
There are no federal elections.
Now it's "Find it if you can," voter fraud, when the bar used to be set much higher, for 'election fraud.'
Ballots sent out duplicate? That's election fraud, whether it's voted or not.
When was the last time The Economist made a successful prediction?
If dead people can receive stimulus checks, certainly they should be allowed to vote:

:-(
Of course the Yurp rag the Economist deliberately ignores the evidence of massive voter fraud by Democrats which was done through mail in votes and vote harvesting. Just look at California in the last election. Orange County had been dominated by Republicans as far back as anyone can remember. Several Republicans were leading there when the polls closed. WOW! Wouldn’t you know it. When the mail in votes were counted every single one of the lost. Gee....what are the odds of that?
Then there is the documented case of Democrat voter fraud in Texas via mail in ballots.
The evidence of voter fraud is quite real. The Economist just doesn’t want to talk about it because it has been Democrats who have been overwhelmingly responsible.
Oh that case in North Carolina? That was my district. By the way, state representative Dan Bishop defeated Leftist Trojan Horse Dan McCready in the special election last year. Its a Republican leaning district. Its unlikely McCready was going to win anyway.
WHAT SHE SAID!
The road to more voter fraud by the Democrats. To hell with that.
Cant find, report, and prosecute what you never look for.

2008 & 2012 Presidential Elections.
Should we just change the name of elections to Democrats win forevers?
Strange coincidence that since mail-in ballots were approved, Colorado has moved from a purple to a solid blue state.
NO FREAKING WAY.
If that were true, then why dont they all vote by mail? Perfect fraudulent way to keep power!
So will every State that allows mail in voting. If it is allowed for the 2020 elections, get ready for a Democrat
President. Along with a Democrat Senate and House.
We are prepared.
WE ARE NOT DOING THAT.
The Economist backs the Democrats to win every freaking time so they are bound to be right when the Democrats win. They have never been right when Republicans win. Not in recent times anyways.
