The White House on Friday said that states have enough coronavirus tests to be able to enter the first phase of its plan for reopening the economy.
The statement comes as the administration is facing pressure to increase the testing capacity.
But officials, including administration health experts, sought to push back on the alarm and express confidence in the testing capabilities, at least for the first phase of reopening.
"Our best scientists and health experts assess that states today have enough tests to implement the criteria of phase one if they choose to do so," Vice President Pence told reporters at a news briefing Friday.
Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, gave some backup to Pence's argument.
He acknowledged a "problem" with the initial rollout of the tests, but said problems are being fixed.
"Many of those have been already corrected and other[s] of those will be corrected," Fauci said Friday. "We will have and there will be enough tests to allow us to take this country through phase one."

Not really. they made us jump through hoops and still are. They’ll mark this down for future use. Now we have to contend with Bill Gates plan for worldwide monitoring.
There is not nearly enough testing to allow individuals and small groups of individuals to make informed personal decisions “based on the science”.
The war of the summer will be this.
The testing is a trap they can always say more tests are needed because there’s no way we can test everyone it would take a year minimum. It’s more obstacle to any re-opening blocking that is the DNC/MSM goal.

All the liberals have to do is get enough people tested to get the results they want and that is just enough positives to keep the curve going up. They are offering free tests to anyone that wants one in Middle Tennessee tomorrow. I think Davison county and/or Williamson county did it today.

I know there is not enough testing for me and mine to get to know what I want to know.
Testing is just not available for me and mine.
The gooberment is still in total control of all testing and not interested in increasing test kit production to the point where I can get what I want.

My wife walked into the local clinic and got tested. It was negative. But there was no problem getting tested.
The briefings are very good to watch, there will be plenty of testing for phase one of opening back up.
BTW I’ve went to work normally, exactly the way I have for the last 42 years.
