De Blasio’s budget calls for spending over $90 billion, or about $11,000 per person in New York City????
Where in the heck does that money come from?
And what the heck is that money spent on?
For comparison, in round numbers, back of the envelope calculation, San Diego spends about $3.3 billion on a population of a bit over 1 million, or about $3000 per person.
LA has a budget of about $11 billion, to spend on a population of a bit less than 4 million, or a bit less than $3000 per person.
There may be good reason for New York local expenses to be so much higher than other places. Any ideas? Pensions? Security for the United Nations?
Pie in the sky ain’t cheap.
