The six-point decline in the president's approval rating is the sharpest drop Gallup has recorded for the Trump presidency so far, largely because Trump's ratings have been highly stable and have yet to reach the historical average for presidents (back to 1945) of 53%.

Gallup has always been hard on Trump with the exception of one recent poll. Rasmussen has him at 46%, not super but the important thing he is on an upward trend over the past several days and that poll is daily.
I still think Trump will have devastatingly effective campaign ads that will completely change the game.

We shouldn’t be surprised by this. Most people realize that incumbent presidents are re-elected or not re-elected according to how voters have felt about and experienced the economy.
What many don’t realize is that vote in November appears to be set according to how the economy is doing in May, before people check out for the summer.
This virus and virus response have been timed perfectly for absolute maximal damage to the economy in May.
The only real numbers to believe are those of the stock market.
Whenever Trump is in front of the cameras, the market skyrockets from public enthusiasm.
