China had a huge presence in Little Rock in the early 90’s and was actively helping Bill Clinton win the election.
They were all over the west and east coast universities particularly in engineering, chemistry, bio sci and math.
I had a nephew and a niece attend the London School of Economics, a couple of decades ago. One of them sent home this message: “I don’t have a problem with this, but he said that visiting LSE its like going to “China town” with a ton of Chinese.”
If China did this on purpose then they just won the cheapest war of all time.

I agree. This has gotten way out of hand, and Fauci and the liberals are pushing for this to continue. I think Trump has had enough and is going to start opening things up. But the local and state officials are going to be slow to respond. Everyone is nervous and doesn't want to be blamed for opening up too soon. In the meantime, businesses are being destroyed and there won't be any jobs to go back to when they do open things up.
The Japanese and Chinese cultures are not remotely the same. Japan always made high quality products, from cameras to watches to Formula 1 cars, from the postwar period to now. They have to overcome the “made in japanl stigma, and they did. I am a machinist, and there is nothing chinese in our shop, not even wrenches. China makes garbage. I know it first hand. Equating the two is absurd.
Remember the first Hyundia? I remember tons of cheap Japanese tools as well, they were junk. If you think everything China makes is junk then I won't try to change your mind but you know as well as I do you get what you pay for and what we are willing to pay for determines the quality we get. Progress happens whether we like it or not. I was merely pointing out that the Japanese stuff was not always first rate and you should know it.
Japanese were always excellent, innovative engineers, who strove for the highest quality. The chinese want to make money, or more precisely, beat the buyer in what they consider a zero sum game. Seiko, Nikon, Honda, Mori Seiki...those brands and their quality have existed at least since the Japanese were sweeping up the rubble.
Doesn't make them stupid and incapable means they responded to the market. Their government makes them retarded not the other way around like it is here.
Never said they were stupid, said they make garbage. Can they make quality things? Sure, for an initial order to get your business, then...garbage. They’d rather buy Italian businesses, ship their sweatshop workers over there, and slap “Made in Italy” on their apparel products, instead of working and making “Made in China” a sign of something other than garbage. They can’t even make decent nail clippers.

Sure they can but we are being the cr@p they make so why should they exactly they own a very large portion of America and American businesses just by selling us and maybe a good part of the world products that mostly suck.
