Re: 3

I need to purchase Martenson's book (and more of yours).

But he does have dated information in his presentation. At 44:05 of the video he notes:

"Persists on some surfaces for us to 9 days"

I’m not sure what study he is referring to but 9 days is mentioned here:

“Persistence of coronaviruses on inanimate surfaces and their inactivation with biocidal agents” but this study did not use SARS-CoV-2
- see https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(20)30046-3/fulltext

More recent studies that use SARS-CoV-2 in their research do not support the virus persisting 9 days:

“Aerosol and surface stability of HCoV-19 (SARS-CoV-2) compared to SARS-CoV-1”
- see https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.09.20033217v2
and
- see https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMc2004973

also

“Stability of SARS-CoV-2 in different environmental conditions”
-see https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2666524720300033?via%3Dihub

He should update his information in regards to this specific point. A mention that the persistence of SARS-CoV-2 in this research was also in highly controlled conditions.

Confused.

WHAT survives? Fragments? Intact, infectious virus? How? At what level of virus present?

There is recent information that it isn’t even necessary to wipe down all packages entering the home and definitely not fresh produce.

This is a question of persistence versus contagion.

I have long suspected that the reason for early advice was a combination of insufficient information (perhaps purposeful) and a cynical decision to exacerbate the OCD tendencies of a portion of the populace.

We use alcohol to disinfect oral thermometers & shopping cart handles, yet are told the lipid capsule of COVID 19 will not be disrupted by cleaning surfaces with alcohol. That’s one confusing example, off the top of my head.

A portion of the populace is spooked to the point of masking, gloving and distancing outdoors in the sun with a 10 mph wind. I have observed this.

Our county, BTW, is the only one in our area of the state with no confirmed cases, yet we know people who have had *something* that meets the parameters of COVID 19.

People out here just don’t go to the doctor or hospital. One local MD admits he thinks he’s seen multiple cases from January within a distinct subgroup of our largest little town.

I have more concern, personally, for the political & economic situation. I’ve read Bracken’s “Enemies” series and
found it believable.

Maybe I’m in denial.
