“This is an idea worth looking into. No one interacts with more people - while having minimal protection - than does a grocery worker.”

I agree. I think grocery store workers over 60 and others at increased risk should be able to stay home without fear of losing their jobs. The rest should have n95 masks and anyone coming into the grocery store should have a mask on.

My Walmart cashier buddy is "able to stay home," i.e. not show up for work yet not be fired; but she's not getting paid. At some point she'll have to choose between providing for her family, and protecting her family.

People have been saying the younger workers should work and the elderly and vulnerable should stay home. But a lot of the latter live with the former.

Nope. Sorry. Thanks for playing. There’s inherent risks in everything we do. Think you’re in a risky position because of your age, medical condition? Take proper precautions, accept the risk or find another line of work.
