AIDS has been out for 40 years, how many people in the US are tested every year for AIDS?
Do they have a vaccine for AIDS despite tens of billions of dollars spent on it? Nope.
Have people stopped having unprotected sex because of AIDS? Nope.
I agree with you. The people who really need testing are:
- First Responders
- Health care workers
- Employees in nursing homes
- Employees in large facilities where they must work close together (i.e. that meat packing plant in South Dakota)
Testing all 350 million of us is logistically impossible.
All valid points. What this really is about is a bunch of people with vested interests trying to grab massive chunks of Federal money while the gettin’ is good.

Trump’s task force has said they are going to institute stringent testing for nursing homes. More regulations are also required in that current environment. But that has nothing to do with the majority of our economy opening up again. If anything these facilities should aid a reopening, because they cut down on the multigenerational households that so hurt Italy. But you are right, they need better controls.
Is everyone tested every year for anti-bodies to the raft of flu viruses, which kill millions every year?
And Covid-19 should be different, because???
How much is the “flu vaccine” protecting us and how much is the built up herd immunity to the flug bugs protecting us? Do they over sell the “flu vaccine” and under appreaciate the built up herd immunity to the seasonal flu bugs?
On a personal note, I have never ever had the flu vaccine and never ever had a serious flu illness.
While you wrote this post 3 people died of other causes. Stop your hyperventilating.
If they did so by not getting a flu or pneumonia shot, then that was their choice. With this stuff, you don't have a choice. Too bad you don't know the difference. Hopefully, you won't learn it the hard way.
But, they do have an effective treatment. A BIG difference.

I think that is an answer from the CDC (we want to keep our jobs) “experts”.
I think herd immunity is the greater deterrant now with the seasonal flu than is the much touted flu vaccine, which still does not prevent many folks from getting the flu.
Extremely unlikely. There’s a higher chance of me dying of about 50 other causes.
