The senior analyst admitted to the FBI's Inspection Division that he had been in possession of the illegal images

An FBI senior analyst has been dismissed for possessing child pornography, according to a recently released memo from the Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Justice. Though the supervisory intelligence analyst (SIA) was dismissed, the FBI elected not to prosecute the employee.

The Office of the Inspector General examined the personal and work devices of the analyst, finding pornographic images on the personal devices, though they were determined not to be images of child pornography.

However, the investigation eventually led the agency to determine that the SIA at some point had "knowingly possessed child pornography, in violation of federal law and FBI policy."

The analyst was fired while the investigation was still pending.

The article says “they were determined not to be images of child pornography.”

Thus — fake headline.

the investigation eventually led the agency to determine that the SIA at some point had "knowingly possessed child pornography

Which probably translates to them hinting that the images needed to disappear before the wrist slapping...

Slightly confusing article. Sounds like employee was found with porn, but not child porn, on their personal computer, not on their work computer, but had previously had child porn on the computer? Do I have that right?

“Which probably translates to them hinting that the images needed to disappear before the wrist slapping... “

Which translates to you getting click-baited and not reading the article.

“Wray really cracking the whip...”

Sometimes it pays to read past the click-bait headline!

There was enough up there, including the still investigating part. Are you saying the story is just flat out false? How do I get click baited if I just made the comment based on the excerpt?

If it’s nothing but bogosity WTH are freepers posting it?

The state or locals should press charges. Just because the DOJ doesn’t, most state and locals have laws on the books.
