Of course knowing Medicare, if someone is tested, sent home, and then comes back...it would probably be coded as “read it”! That would take six months to straighten out. Lol.

No, all hospitals will get added reimbursement for any patient with COV19 code. Not all patients go into ICU unit for COV19 but they still critical care.

Now with Medicare, they already advanced funds to the hospital for COV19 patients (advance payment) to cover the charges. At end of year, when we do the cost report to Medicare we have to refund/settle up any money they gave us we didn’t use for patients with COV19/expenses.

The research does tend to be lengthy if it is to be accurate. EG the Israelis kept working on SARS which when tjis hit gave them a huge lead on possible drugs for treatment and forms of vaccines

In any field of real inquiry and at scientific conferences and communications between researchers there is a lot of chit-chat and speculation and hypothesis, especially after drinks, but then everyone continues working on their now somewhat modified ideas. There is serious work going on but most of what I just described is merely water flowing under a bridge. What we the public receive in print and on television is much less than this: the voices of researchers in the actual fields from which understanding will come are drowned out by those who have a penchant for publicity, policies to push, and worse, it is as if at the conference bar the bartender and waiters keep interrupting the scientists until it is only they who are allowed to speak.
