Kind of hard for me to reconcile 260,000 dead if we carefully follow social distancing with the 20,000 dead we have today on the down slope.

Are you able to explain it?

Did you notice the part where Trump said there would have been 1.5 million to 3 million deaths if they didn't lock it down?

Do I care if there was a forecast saying 100,000 to 260,000 dead if we do lock down and now we're only at 24,000? Great! the lockdown was more successful so far than they expected. That's not the important forecast. Maybe they overshot that forecast. IDK. People are still dying aren't they? It does look overshot.

But the important forecast is what happens if you don't lock down vs what happens if you do? 1.5 million to 3 million dead if you don't lock down. Trump said it. Trump believes it. I did my own forecast, and got the same results.

So if you lift the lock down without other mitigation efforts in place, you go right back to the 1.5 million to 3 million dead, and you accomplish nothing but adding economic pain to the pandemics effects.

You have to have the following in place to open the economy:

Everyone wears a mask. Needs to be a legal requirement.
Masks have to be available.
Number of new cases have to be manageable. Meaning they can be contact traced and quarantines enforced.
You have to have the resources to do the contact tracing and quarantining.
You have to have the testing in place.
You need effective medical treatments so that if you do get it, you're not looking at permanent damage or death.
People need confidence that they aren't putting their lives at risk by going to a restaurant. Preferably not a misplaced confidence.
They don't need to go back to work and then be down for 3 weeks sick, and 15% of them getting a $400,000 hospital bill for a 2 week stay.

Trump is playing chess with the media and Fauci while they are playing checkers. It has been amazing to watch.

Trump likes Tony. Trump likes Deb. Trump likes Xi. Trump likes Andrew. Trump likes Phil. Trump likes Kim. Trump likes...

And while that “reporter” kept asking what he’s done in all the time since he knew about the seriousness of the pandemic,which he’s answered numerous times the past 4 weeks, (building hospitals, making deals to get the whiney governors their venilators, etc.), he’s still smarter than them. When that reporter (and others) were so set on saying he was wrong about being in charge of the opening rather than the States, they failed to realize that once he approved Wyoming’s State of Emergency, that he/the Federal Government IS in charge, lol.

While the “reporters” and “media” are freaking out that he used a powerpoint/video of what they reported and a timeline for this virus and the actions of the federal government, “campaign ad” they fail to know the law regarding this just like they fail to know the law regarding the NATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY.

No other President would be able to fight them. Thank heavens he’s President during this time.
