The virus has a 0.2% death rate for young people so if USS Theodore Roosevelt, that could mean up to 5 dead sailors.
Tragic loss of course, but such is sometimes the cost of defending our country, which he was valiantly doing.
I can’t help but wonder about this person’s race, however. The US military is a very diverse operation these days, and there are some questions as to whether some races are more predisposed. Of course the media has implied the race figures are all dependent on level of treatment, but in the military all treatment should be equal.
50,000 dead from 2019-2020 influenza season. About 20% higher than normal. But no media attention for that.

Actually, at that rate, out of 580 sailors infected, it comes out to 1.116 sailors dying. So, this should be it, statistically.
