Let’s Zoom Xi. He has questions to answer

First, what exactly was going on in Wuhan that led to the initial emergence of Sars-CoV-2? If the virus originated from a bat at one of the disgusting “wet” markets (where wildlife intended for human consumption is sold alongside chicken and beef), which your regime inexplicably has not shut down, that is bad enough. But if it originated because of sloppy practices at the Wuhan branch of the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, that is worse. It is insanity for research on potentially lethal zoonoses such as coronaviruses to be going on in the heart of a vast metropolis like Wuhan.

Second, how big a role did the central government play in the cover-up after it became clear in Wuhan that there was human-to-human transmission? We now know there were 104 cases of the new disease, including 15 deaths, between December 12 and the end of that month. Why was the official Chinese line on December 31 that there was “no clear evidence” of human-to-human transmission? And why did that official line not change until January 20?

Third, after it became clear that there was a full-blown epidemic spreading from Wuhan to the rest of Hubei province, why did you cut off travel from Hubei to the rest of China – on January 23 – but not from Hubei to the rest of the world?

This is the key question: China cut Wuhan off from the rest of China in January, but did not cut off travel from Wuhan to the rest of the world.

Coincidence? Or more like a smoking gun?

“This is the key question: China cut Wuhan off from the rest of China in January, but did not cut off travel from Wuhan to the rest of the world.”

Because their primary concern was to not spread it throughout China.

Once we had an outbreak in Washington state and then in NY did we shut down outgoing international flights?

Can Americans right now still book flights and leave the US for some other country?

That’s the other side of the coin, I agree.

The CCP deliberately spread their bio-weapon once it had been released.

The rest of the world didn’t act fast enough to isolate the CCP, largely because of the CCP’s deliberate efforts to mislead, accompanied by their general communist ineptitude.

Doesn’t let the West off of the hook.

Can’t change the past, but we need to a) make the CCP an international pariah, and b) find a way to make them pay at least some of the butcher’s bill.

I thought I had read that millions got out of Wuhan before it was locked down?!

“The CCP deliberately spread their bio-weapon once it had been released.”

I understand that some see conspiracies everywhere... but I don’t. Especially when logic tells me otherwise. If they were launching a bio weapon it would have been far more effective and deadly. Certainly it would have been easy for them to launch a contagious virus in the west. No need to kill their own workers, shut down their factories and affect their economy.

It was a screw up of some sort in China which the Left and MSM have capitalized on to the max.

article says five questions; only lists 3. #3 may be the most pertinent, but here’s the rest. it ended up with six questions:

9 Apr: Belfer Center: It’s Ok for China to Harm the World in Order to Save It?
by Niall Ferguson
Fourth, what possessed your Foreign Ministry spokesman to start peddling an obviously false conspiracy theory on social media and why has he not been fired?
Fifth, where exactly are Ren Zhiqiang and Ai Fen, to name just two of the Chinese citizens who seem to have vanished since they expressed criticism of your government’s handling of COVID-19?
Finally, how many of your people has this disease really killed?...

No need to kill their own workers, shut down their factories and affect their economy.

A virus that kills mostly old people won't keep the Chinese factories closed for very long. They do not value each human life as we do. This is a most unusual virus.

I have another question for Xi. Is the entire coronavirus pandemic simply a smokescreen to cover your invasion of Taiwan, or some other military expansionism?

Again — absolutely no need to do that. It’s infectious. Just have some chinese spread it around in the west. This can be done without the infected people even knowing who infected them.

one time MSM asked a decent question:

18 Feb: USA Today: ‘Danger of getting coronavirus now is just minusculely low’
With China taking extreme measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and previously quarantined American cruise ship passengers returning to the United States, Dr. Anthony Fauci, America’s point man on infectious diseases, spoke with the USA TODAY Editorial Board on Monday about the latest coronavirus developments.

Q. What about the conspiracy theories involving a bioweapons lab near Wuhan?

A. There isn’t a bioweapons lab in Wuhan. There’s a biological containment that’s studying countermeasures against natural outbreak. Whenever you have a virus that you know has been studied in a lab, and virtually every virus is studied in a lab, and there’s an outbreak of a new virus, there’s always the suspicion that something either accidentally or deliberately was released. So, I mean, I can’t say absolutely that’s not the case. It is extremely unlikely that that’s the case, but you can find out if it is or not. And there are people who are actually looking at that right now. So I think we’re going to get some sort of an answer about that...

however, haven’t seen any follow-up since it was asked by a single media outlet in mid-February!

Not saying it was a deliberate release. Simplest explanation is that it got out of their dual-use biology lab, which has happened before with SARS.

The initial reaction was the typical ChiCom knee-jerk reaction to sweep problems under the rug.

But once the realization reached Beijing, the behavior of the regime is all you need to look at.

They ordered samples destroyed, have excluded western experts and concealed information from the start.

They went around the world in early January buying up vast quantities of PPE that they knew would be soon needed globally.

They lied about the severity and communicability of the disease, even getting the WHO to say, in late January, that there was no human-to-human transmission.

They then did everything they could to encourage the spread outside of China.

I could go on.

Just follow the facts.

The CCP is directly responsible for the deaths, as of today, over a hundred thousand world-wide. When this is over, once the toll in Africa, India and central and south America is known, that total could be horrendous.

I don’t think the world is going to give the CCP a pass, and I think that the US should lead the effort to hold them accountable.

We shall just disagree. NP. I follow the logic and your statements are just not persuasive.
