I haven't seen anyone with Coronavirus on FR yet. Thank God for that. But if anyone should get it, they don't want some Dem governor denying them access to Chloroquine just because Trump promoted it, and they hate Trump.
Like the governors of New York, Michigan and Nevada did.

Indian mfgs already said they are stocked to the gills with material for them, and are capable of supply100’s of millions of doses at the drop of a hat. Just waiting for someone to order them.

Disclaimer: I may already have had the kungflu back around the end of the last year. Reason I think so is I had all the symptoms including feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest. Fever and chills for like 4-5 days. When tested by the clinic was neg flu, but damn, I’ve had flu before and it sure felt the same. I’ll be interested when the testing catches up to see if I have the antibodies. Im giving blood ASAP if i do too.

I’ve defended Fauci in here for essentially that reason. He’s responsible for drug approval and that’s a process that shouldn’t be changed without good reason.
However, consider this. There are now many doctors in the U.S. willing to go public with the information that they are successfully treating patients by giving them HCQ earlier than the CDC had been recommending until very recently. In addition, there are dozens of countries that have come to the same conclusion.
Add to that the fact that hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people are dying in their apartments in NYC without receiving treatment. Why? Because, according to Fauci, Birx, and the mainstream press, there is not proven treatment for Covid-19.
The real damage has been done by the press, which due to severe TDS, has failed the American people by ignoring the growing number of doctors using HCQ successfully. At least they say they’re having success. At some point, the evidence becomes, though definitely not gold standard, more than anecdotal.
But the press, instead of telling people the symptoms on an hourly basis (like they operate when bad weather is approaching, for example), and telling them to get to a doctor for treatment before they get too sick, is instead not even spending much time on symptoms, and is spending no time on encouraging treatment, because there isn’t one, per Fauci and Birx.
Fauci and Birx could remedy this with a single press conference stating this: While we don’t yet have gold standard evidence of the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine in arresting the progression of Covid-19, a growing number of physicians are finding that it is working for their own patients. We therefore are now urging anyone with symptoms to seek medical attention and testing at the first sign of symptoms. You must see a doctor to avoid potential side effects, however. We also encourage the news media to spread this information widely and to make people aware of the early symptoms of Covid-19.
I now believe that so long as they fail to do this, they are indeed complicit in the deaths of those who die without treatment because of their continued insistence that there is still no proven treatment. While that is true, it is not the message they need to emphasize, which is that there is now too much in-the-trenches evidence of an effective treatment to ignore.

This could be a battle for any one of our lives and thousands of doctors and scientists agree that this is a reasonably safe treatment profile and should be decided between a doctor and his/her patients.
What the reasonable and sane people in this country simply expect is that governors stay out of private decisions regarding patient doctor choices - unlike Cuomo who has blocked the use of this treatment outside New York City’s “approved” clinical trials. The FDA has approved this for off label prescription and has not prohibited HCQ for outpatient prescription.
Only left wing politicians and most of the media are suddenly targeting this treatment as “unproven” dangerous, false hope....etc, despite the past and ongoing clinical studies and doctor testimonials that soundly prove otherwise.
If you can’t see the despicable political debacle started by the media and one particular political party on this matter then you are willfully blind to the outrage being expressed on this site.
it will be interesting to see if this drug works on pneumonia caused by other viruses as well.
