Illinois public health officials reported Thursday the state was getting closer to “bending the curve” when it comes to new cases of COVID-19.
On Thursday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,344 new cases and 66 additional deaths.
The governor was asked if summer events, including festivals, could go on as planned.
"I think everybody needs to think seriously about canceling large summer events,” Pritzker said. “From my perspective today, I do not see how we are going to have large gatherings of people until we have a vaccine, which is months away.”

The Anti-Human League needs the crisis to last. They think they can ride it into the presidency.

A few weeks back on here, someone said something along the lines that he expected large gatherings to be miraculously deemed safe just in time for the gay pride parades in late June, since for the politicians and the media, the gay agenda always trumps everything else. We’ll see.
It’s a huge bet on a Dem win in Nov.
The only thing that saves them would be federally guaranteed state bond borrowing.
What constitutes a “large crowd”?
Little league games, summer concerts, county fairs, political conventions, conventions, casinos, horse races, church services?
Does that include the daily Chicago shootings spree?
I’m done with it. Things start opening by end of month, or I am moving to disobedience mode. We can’t go to normal on day 1 but we have to start moving that way. Only exception is if we see a massive increase and reversal of all current trends.
Last I heard a vaccine is going to be at least 12 to 18 months out. So that means no large events this summer, this winter and possibly even next summer.
Amazing how it went from just shelter in your house whenever you can for a couple weeks, OK maybe a month, well actually the next year and a half.
Baffled, baffled, baffled, baffled as to why a MASSIVE PUSH is not on for simple, quick testing machines from the Trump administration. Uber, someone, start a franchise offering testing. Shouldn’t be forced by the government, but if I owned a mall and had several kiosks outside and you had to test before entry, I’d have the most popular mall on earth. Even if you just wanted to come and get tested.
Unless there is some hidden secret we are not being told, this thing is going to haunt us until something like what I suggest is done.
