U.S. Sens. Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson call for investigation into Wisconsin's missing absentee ballots

"In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an unprecedented increase in requests for absentee ballots, as more and more voters sought to comply with public health guidance and avoid potential risk to their health by avoiding in-person voting," they wrote Thursday in a letter to Inspector General of the U.S. Postal Service Tammy Whitcomb. "The United States Postal Service (USPS) in short, had an out-sized role in ensuring Wisconsinites could safely exercise the right to vote and participate in our democracy."

"Unfortunately, there have been numerous accounts from the state that USPS failed to fulfill that critical function for some voters," the senators wrote. "We are concerned there may be more examples, and request that you promptly open an investigation to determine the cause of these failures, which appear to have disenfranchised many Wisconsin voters."

Baldwin is a Democrat from Madison. Johnson is a Republican from Oshkosh.

Would-be voters across the state have expressed a host of frustrations about trying to obtain absentee ballots so they could avoid going to the polls during the coronavirus pandemic. Many have said ballots they requested long ago did not arrive by Tuesday, the deadline for getting their ballots postmarked.

Robert Sheehan, a Wisconsin media contact for the Postal Service, said Thursday that the Postal Service is investigating reports that ballots were processed for mailing to clerks without being postmarked. A U.S. Supreme Court ruling late Monday said absentee ballots had to show a postmark by Tuesday to be counted. Sheehan declined to provide further details.

I actually think this is engineered by the pig to discredit the SCOTUS decision to let the primary proceed. She was very vocal in her trashing of the 5 conservative justices.

I really think she is delusional and believes that she is in charge of the country.

Well, if voter fraud occurred, it was the Democrats who did it.

We need to say this over and over and over again over the next few months.

The DEMOCRATS COMMIT VOTER FRAUD!!!! IT’S WHAT THEY DO!!!!!

Mad Magazine once had a dead letter bit where the US Postal Service finally found missing letters.

One was to Abe Lincoln: Don’t go to that play Our American Cousin. It’s really a dog. Skip it.

Elsewhere the real life mail staff will finally locate the mailed ballots that show Nixon defeated Kennedy in Illinois and thus won the election in 1960.

They do know that they can send them all via FedEx or UPS no?

This was a urination match between the GOP controlled legislature and the Democratic Governor. When the Governor could not get the date changed, I have little doubt that the word went out to the postal employee unions to take actions that will support claims that this was a faulty election. The FBI needs to looks at all electronic communications traffic in and out of the governor’s office in the relevant period before the election and all electronic communication to postal union representatives. This was election tampering. Likewise I would look at whomever was in charge of running the polling places in Milwaukee County. That also looked like a deliberate attempt to sabotage the administration of the election in order to facilitate post hoc challenges to its legitimacy.
