The office of Vice President Mike Pence will no longer allow members of the White House coronavirus task force to appear on CNN unless the network broadcasts President Donald Trumps daily press briefings in their entirety.
Pences office, which is responsible for booking the officials on networks during the pandemic, said it will only allow experts such as Dr. Deborah Birx or Dr. Anthony Fauci to appear on CNN if the network televises the portion of the White House briefings that includes the vice president and other coronavirus task force members.
After Trump leaves the podium, CNN frequently cuts out of the White House briefing to discuss and fact-check what the President had said. A CNN executive said that the network usually returns to such programming because of the extensive length of the full briefing that includes Pence, which can run in excess of two hours.
Pences office has barred task force members from participating in interviews on CNN since last Thursday evening.
When you guys cover the briefings with the health officials then you can expect them back on your air, a spokesperson for the vice president told the network.
Top coronavirus task force members, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, have appeared frequently on CNN and other corporate media outlets since the pandemic began earlier this year. Fauci participated in five CNN town hall events, which featured hosts Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

How about just use the emergency broadcasting system for real instead of just a test?
Is that too simple a solution?
“Can you hear their heads exploding over at CNN??”
i know, right! CNN will now be FORCED to attack President Trump 99.5% of their on-air time instead of just 99% of the time ...
CNN will probably stubbornly refuse to meet the President’s demands, which is a really good thing for at least two reasons:
1. it’s a great excuse to keep fauci off of CNN, because every time he goes there, tapper tricks him into going off the reservation.
2. CNN ratings are reduced while fox’s ratings increase ...
Pence is learning from Trump, and hopefully ALL republicans are also watching and learning how to deal with the commie lib media
yes it is too simple. Don’t want to panic anyone....sarc
Bad idea. Trump's playing CNN like a fiddle during these briefings and exposing their treachery. If they weren't there the enemedia might appear even-handed.
Updating my opinion of Vice President Pence.
A Loyal Soldier to the Commander in Chief and the
BEST VICE PRESIDENT EVER!!!
I wish I thought Fauci was being "tricked".
I don't.
CNN and Fox News are cut from the same cheap cloth.
OANN is my Go To for coverage of President Trump.
Smart move by Pence.
Why should he accommodate Commie News Network?
Pence rarely shows his emotions, but last evening when the ass Acosta questioned him, he calmly turned the answering over to Birx.
But I noticed his face getting red. I bet he just wanted to smack Jackass Jim.
Pulled...like yesterday!
My mom used to say:
“There may be snow on the roof, but there’s a fire in the furnace.”
Even at his relatively advanced age, Fauxcy is WAY smarter than Kr@pper.
Fauxcy just uses the straight man as an excuse to get his message out.
More winning.
Thank you VP Pence!
I’m sure he did it with Trump’s full approval, but so much better coming from Pence than the President.
My wife is getting to be a big fan of Mike Pence. She also likes that Trump gives him things important to do unlike most Vice-Presidents.
Way to show some spine there, Mr. Vice-President!
Has the added benefit of removing the forum where Dr. Fauci is most likely to cut your legs out from under you.
This will cost them 1/3 of their viewers.
At least 50 people...
Good.

“Pence is learning from Trump...”
Yes. I was thinking same: banning the task force from CNN was a very Trumpian move.
