PAGE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in northern Arizona have arrested a man for writing a racist social media post accusing Navajo people of carrying the coronavirus and calling for their deaths.

The Page Police Department announced Tuesday that 34-year-old Daniel Franzen was taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to incite an act of terrorism.

Police say they received reports Monday of a Facebook post that urged people to use “lethal force” against the Navajo community because they were “100% infected” with COVID-19.

I agree, I bet that many Navajo would agree.

If leftists can threaten to murder Trump, then threatening to kill Indians is also permitted.

Arrest the Arizona cops for violating this man’s civil rights.

(The US is going bat-chit crazy)

“When you are calling for the killing of people that ain’t speech. That is a terroristic threat”

Well, no, it’s not. When you make a threat, *that’s* a threat. When you say, “Pelosi and Schumer have no right to live,” that’s an opinion.

“This guy is an a$& hat”

Obviously, but a free country doesn’t arrest people for being asshats. A free country only arrests people when there is probable cause to believe they have committed an actual crime.

And...and...disagreeing with the left—with the forces of evil—can *never* be a legitimate crime.

I’ve been thinking about this for a few days.

Definitely agree with you regarding the dicey emotional comments. But death threats shouldn’t necessarily be excused as absentminded moments. They’re too often made public and executed shortly thereafter.

“But death threats shouldn’t necessarily be excused as absentminded moments.”

You assume that which is at issue. I’m not saying we should ignore death threats; I’m saying it wasn’t a threat.

Obligatory disclaimer: It says a lot about your real character that you would defend someone promoting the murder of a race of people. Freak

John Adams was the only lawyer they could find to defend the British soldiers who killed Americans at the Boston Massacre. What do you suppose that said about his character?

Never mind, you’ve already demonstrated your inability to understand such issues.

If you don’t plan to demonstrate that he actually “promoted” killing, why don’t you see if you can swim from New Orleans down to Cuba? I’m sure you’d be more comfortable there than in a country that respects freedom of conscience and speech.

Good one. Glad you could stop admiring a man who wants to kill people because he’s a racist imbecile long enough to respond.

He’s an imbecile? You can’t even comprehend that freedom of speech extends to racist imbeciles, and you have the gall to insult another person’s intelligence?

Have I wandered into DU?

Freedom of speech doesn’t apply to people encouraging murder you dolt. Same as yelling fire in a crowded store doesn’t apply to freedom of speech.

Yah, the reservation is a "hot spot" despite how rural it is.

My guess would be because of Gallup being basically an 1-40 stop for travelers and many of the Navajo working the service jobs there.Big, extended families, probably a lot of religious ceremonies-both traditional and church.

The reservation is super rural though. I drive through it pretty frequently. Houses can be many acres apart.

“Freedom of speech doesn’t apply to people encouraging murder”

So we’ve gone from “promoting” to “encouraging.”

Never mind the Constitution; just make up whatever you like. After all, our freedom of speech doesn’t extend to unpopular speech.
