I think it is insane that this type of testing being readily available virtually on every street corner isn’t the number one priority of the administration.

Need to have symptoms from what I gather so this is like fishing in a hatchery and saying you caught the limit.

Trump brought in Corporate America because the CDC and FEMA were not doing the job.

Like any businessman if you tell him something can’t be done he will find someone else to do it.

Didn’t you get the memo about the expedited FDA approval? No thanks to the CDC btw.

The Abbott equipment is already in hospitals and clinics.

You can have antibodies w/o symptoms. There’s been lots of news of people spreading the virus who are asymptomatic.

If they can hand out hydroxychloroquine after a positive test, we’re done with this.

***We need to KNOW AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE the best estimate on the total number of CV INFECTIONS IN THE USA.

This flu season: 39 million INFECTIONS, 400K hospitalizations, and 24K deaths from the flu. Fatalities as a % of those infected from the flu = 0.06%.

Current USA CV stats: 400K positive tests, 12.8K deaths. BUT WHAT ARE THE NUMBER OF CV INFECTIONS IN THE US? It is in the MILLIONS but is it 5 million? 50 million? We don’t know yet but need to find out ASAP.

BOTTOM LINE IS, THE FATALITIES AS A % OF THOSE INFECTED WITH CV WILL BE MUCH LOWER THAN THE FATALITIES AS A % OF THOSE TESTING POSITIVE WITH CV. We know this because there are a large number of asymptomatic people with CV who have shown no symptoms or were sick for a day or two and recovered.

If the CV fatalities as a % of those infected is as low as we suspect (0.1 to 0.2%) then the CV SPREADS MORE RAPIDLY than was estimated and is LESS LETHAL than we thought (as H1N1 was in 2009-2010). America can then quit this media-driven panic and get back to work. The health of the US economy is at stake. We need ANTIBODY tests done on sample populations as quickly as possible to get this data.

90% of those who have died from CV are over the age of 75 and have pre-existing conditions.

The combination of Hydroxychloroquine, Azithromycin, and Zinc has been working with thousands of patients worldwide.

God bless you and your families.

“Need to have symptoms”

not too difficult: most people have the basic symptoms everyday anyway: runny nose, scratchy throat, headache, etc.

not to mention how hard is that to fake during pre-registration?

the key is whether a doc’s prescription for the test is needed; the article doesn’t say one is needed, just that you you to “pre-register” for an appointment and meet CDC quidelines ...

Wish they would do it in Michigan. Governor Gestapo probably nixed it.

I said and meant that testing should be on every street corner. And hydroxychloroquine should be readily available if you test positive.

Problem over.

Those Asian countries that did heavy testing AND tracking AND quarantining really pushed down the curve.

Talking about everybody getting tested while possibly important to the individual (getting treatment more quickly or knowing that they may have limited immunity), to society not so much.

On the other hand, testing followed up by tracking and then quarantining those who were exposed to the infected is a way to deal with this threat. In Germany they are close to having a system in place that will identify 90% of those the infected contacted within 24 hours. If you can do that, then you can get those who were in contact with the infected person to quarantine until they are tested.

We need testing, tracking and quarantining, not just testing as a society. Actually we need a vaccine, but until then let’s all start talking about the need to also track and quarantine.

They use these Abbot machines to run quick Streep tests and have been using them for a while. It is just a matter of providing a different test kit.

Though not nearly as broad as one might of thought after the Rose Garden conference with reps from Wal-Mart, Target, CVS and Walgeens. Those 4 operate over 24,000 stores nationwide. Looks like we are now up to about 30 with testing.

“The COVID-19 test produced by Abbott can deliver results in 13 minutes. “

Unfortunately, it would take months to get approval to get tested,
