Sanders drops out, paving way for Biden
The Hill ^ | 04 08 2020 | Tal Axelrod

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dropped out of the Democratic presidential race, paving the way for former Vice President Joe Biden to win the 2020 nomination.

Sanders was unable to build on his early momentum in the race after wins in New Hampshire and Nevada as well as virtual tie in Iowa, going on to lose a string of states to Biden after the former vice president consolidated the support of moderate Democrats.

The departure marks Sanders's second failed attempt at the Democratic nomination after he came up short in his 2016 challenge against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The 2016 campaign did, however, vault Sanders to household name status after he cobbled together a loyal base of support from largely young voters who grew enamored with his progressive policies and efforts to push the party further left.

Will Uncle Joe emerge from the basement with a facelift, a brain-lift and a history scrubbed of sexual harassment incidences?

Time will tell. . .

Clearing the field for Cuomo

Trump would LOVE to have that debate just on economic grounds alone. New York State is a basket case, and its largely due to Cuomo's policies.

DJT is going to rip Joe apart in any debate they engage in, if Joe remembers to show up.

Yes. New York state is a mess. On top of that, to be shallow I suppose, I don’t think most of America is ready for a President with pierced nipples.

We may get there one day, but not today.

I love that Bernie’s followers got beotch slapped again. It’s almost as fun as watching Hillary lose over and over again.
Now they have to choke on their own bile and vote for who they are told to by the Democrats. Oh well, at least it’s another old white guy.

Bernie has a very aggressive ground game.
..........
He had hoped the Bernie Bros would cause a floor fight at the convention to get socialist agenda points included into the democrat platform that Biden the nominee would have to campaign against Trump with.
...........
Once the Dems delayed the convention and now likely are going to a virtual convention, Bernie lost that option.
............
Bernie knows that he will not be the VP nominee. Possibly a cabinet post later.
............
He knows this is his last parade......find a sunny porch somewhere, one that’s big enough for you and Uncle Mumbles.

Remember, he can do what he wishes with the money in the kitty.

No he can't. If Bernie has any money left over then there are four things he can do with it. 1) He can give the money to charity so long as he personally doesn't benefit from it. 2) He can give to individual candidates up to the maximum of $2800. 3) He can give it all to state, local, or national political party committees. 4) He can roll it into a future political campaign, i.e. Sanders for Senate 2024 or Sanders for President 2024. He can't keep any of it even if he paid taxes on it. That perk was outlawed years ago.
